Etilaam is a medication derived from thienobenzodiazepine that contains Etizolam. It functions as an anxiolytic, sedative-hypnotic, and antidepressant. Etilaam is prescribed for oral therapy in treating anxiety disorders, including panic attacks and generalized anxiety, as well as depression in adult patients. It is also effective for the short-term management of insomnia. Etilaam has anti-convulsant properties that help relax the body's skeletal muscles, which aids in addressing various medical conditions. It selectively targets and has a strong affinity for the alpha2 subunit of the postsynaptic GABA receptor.
Etilaam contains Etizolam, which reproduces anti-convulsant effects. Etizolam is often given to patients for the short-term relief of insomnia and is valuable for managing situational anxiety, such as panic attacks and phobic neurosis. Etilaam tablets are utilized to treat secondary psychosomatic disorders like headaches, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and hypertension.
The highest allowable daily dosage of Etilaam should not surpass 3 mg. For anxiety disorders, the suggested dosage is 0.25-0.5 mg of Etizolam twice daily. In cases of panic disorders, the recommended dosage is 0.5 mg taken twice daily. For patients experiencing insomnia (difficulty sleeping), doctors typically recommend a dosage of 1-2 mg of Etizolam at bedtime.
A course of treatment with Etilaam should not be extended beyond 12 weeks. It is important not to stop the treatment abruptly; instead, you should consult your doctor before discontinuation. To avoid any unwanted withdrawal symptoms, the dosage of Etilaam should be gradually reduced.
